Now Approved in Florida: A Simpler Way to Meet Alzheimer’s and Dementia Training Requirements

Florida providers know that meeting dementia care training requirements isn’t optional, but getting it done shouldn’t be complicated.

We’re excited to share that Showd.me is now an approved provider of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) training curricula through the Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA). That means our clients can meet regulatory requirements without scrambling to build compliant training programs from scratch.

We’ve taken care of the curriculum development, approval process, and ongoing compliance so providers can focus on what really matters: delivering great care.

What Is the ADRD Training Requirement in Florida?

Under Florida law (430.5025 F.S. and Rule 59A-36.011 F.A.C.), staff in licensed care settings are required to complete ADRD training within specific timelines depending on their role and setting. This applies to:

  • Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs)
  • Nursing Homes
  • Adult Day Care Centers
  • Nurse Registries
  • Home Health Agencies
  • Hospice Providers

The training is designed to equip direct care staff with the foundational knowledge they need to support individuals living with Alzheimer’s and related dementias.

What We Offer

We now offer four DOEA-approved curricula, built specifically for Florida providers:

  • Assisted Living (3-hour) – For ALF staff providing direct care
  • Assisted Living (4-hour) – For ALF staff working in secured memory care units
  • Adult Day Care Center (3-hour) – For ADC staff providing personal care
  • Nursing Home (3-hour) – For NH staff with regular contact with residents with ADRD

How We Make Compliance Easy

We’ve designed our solution to reduce the operational and administrative burden for providers. Here’s how:

  • Approved Curriculum, Delivered Seamlessly: We host the full DOEA-approved training online in a learner-friendly format. There’s no need for clients to juggle PDFs, PowerPoints, or downloads. We deliver a streamlined experience that tracks learner progress automatically and ensures completion data is always accessible.

  • We Manage the Certificates: All training completions generate a certificate that includes the required signature from our DOEA-approved trainer. Clients don’t need to worry about tracking compliance manually or coordinating certificates themselves.

  • No Modifications, And No Risk of Noncompliance: Florida law is clear: ADRD curricula must be delivered exactly as approved by the Department of Elder Affairs. We’ve already secured approval for our curricula and maintain all associated documentation. Our Client Success team implements the training using templates that meet all state requirements, so clients never need to worry about invalid delivery or audit issues.

  • White-Glove Support for a Frictionless Experience: We don’t hand you a checklist and walk away. From setup to learner support to reporting, our team is hands-on and proactive. We ensure every client is up and running with the right curricula for their setting and stays compliant over time.

This isn’t just about checking a box. The risks of noncompliance in dementia care training are real… from licensing citations to gaps in care delivery. We’re here to help clients avoid those risks while delivering training that meets state standards and respects learners’ time.
