An overview of anti harassment training

Workplace harassment is the belittling or threatening behavior that is directed at a specific worker or group of workers. According to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), misconduct can include offensive jokes, slurs, epithets or name-calling, physical assaults or threats, intimidation, ridicule or mockery, insults or put-downs, offensive objects or pictures, and interference with work performance.

This includes verbal harassment, psychological harassment, digital harassment (cyberbullying), physical harassment, and sexual harassment. Examples include using offensive or derogatory jokes, racial or ethnic slurs, unwelcome comments about a person’s religion or religious garments, ageism, and sexual and gender harassment.
